This policy applies to listing fees paid by sellers on octaned.us. Buyers do not pay anything to use the platform, so there is nothing on the buyer side to refund.
1. When you get a full refund
We will issue a full refund of the $50 listing fee in any of the following situations:
- Within 24 hours of payment, provided no prospective buyer has signed your per-listing NDA and no documents have been viewed.
- If we remove your listing for an internal platform error that wasn't your fault, before any buyer activity has occurred.
- If we are unable to publish your listing after payment (for example, an extended outage that prevents the listing from going live within 72 hours).
- If a duplicate charge occurs due to a payment processor or platform bug. The duplicate is refunded in full.
2. When we issue a partial or no refund
Refunds are not available in the following situations:
- More than 24 hours have passed and the listing has been published on the marketplace.
- One or more prospective buyers have signed the per-listing NDA, regardless of when. Once the gated documents have been disclosed under NDA, the listing has provided its core service.
- You decide to remove or hide the listing yourself, withdraw it, or mark it sold. You can take the listing down at any time, but the fee is not refundable in these cases.
- The listing is removed by Octaned because it violated the Terms & Conditions — for example, misleading financial information, undisclosed material issues, or fraudulent listings.
- Your business doesn't sell, doesn't reach asking price, or doesn't generate enough buyer interest. The fee is for publication, not for a guaranteed outcome.
3. How to request a refund
Email billing@octaned.us from the email address on your account, with:
- your listing URL or listing ID;
- the date and approximate time of payment;
- a brief reason for the refund request.
We respond within two business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method via our payment processor and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
4. Chargebacks
Please contact us before initiating a chargeback. If you dispute a charge with your bank without first contacting us and the dispute is found in our favour, we may suspend the associated account and decline future listings.
5. Future changes
We may update this refund policy. Any update applies to future listing payments only — refund eligibility for a payment is locked in by the policy in effect on the day you paid.
